Scientific rationale

Central nervous system infections (SNC) are still a major clinical and diagnostic challenge for neurologists, infectious patients and other specialists involved in complex patient management. The evolution of knowledge in the field of immunology, guest genetics, virology and advanced therapeutic strategies has profoundly changed the approach to viral encephalitis and other neurological infections in recent years. At the same time, the growing number of immunocompromised patients, the emergence of new infections and the impact of pandemic events have made a close multidisciplinary integration and the continuous updating of clinical skills increasingly necessary.

This Webinar ECM cycle was born with the aim of providing a detailed scientific update on some of the main emerging issues in the field of SNC infections, with particular attention to guest susceptibility mechanisms, new therapeutic strategies and the role of neurologist in in infectious contexts with high complexity.
