IMMUNOTERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF SOLIDI TUMOURS: AGGIORNAMENTS AND CLINIC EXPERIENCES TO CONFRONT (ONCOimm/26)

Scientific rationale

Immunotherapy has revolutionized the oncological therapeutic panorama, opening first unthinkable perspectives in terms of survival and quality of life for numerous patients. The rapid evolution of knowledge on the mechanisms of interaction between the immune system and cancer, together with the development of new therapeutic strategies—from immune checkpoint inhibitors to advanced cell therapies—today makes a continuous and multidisciplinary update indispensable.

In this context, the Comprehensive Cancer Center of the Policlinico San Matteo is a platform for comparison between clinical practice and translational research, favouring integration between different skills. The goal is to critically discuss the latest evidence, explore predictive biomarkers of response and toxicity and deepen strategies to optimize patient selection.

Particular attention must be paid to emerging challenges, including the management of immuno-related adverse events, primary and acquired resistance mechanisms, fair access to innovative therapies, real-world evidence data and the implementation of diagnostic-therapeutic paths within integrated organizational models.

The conference aims to promote a dynamic dialogue between different clinical realities, with the ultimate goal of translating scientific innovations into concrete benefits for patients, consolidating the role of the Comprehensive Cancer Center as a hub of excellence in oncological care and research.
