Scientific rationale

Through the comparison between urologists, oncologists, endocrinologists, gynaecologists, physiotherapists and psychosexual experts, the course will address the entire welfare continuum: from active surveillance to nerve-sparing surgery, from hormonal therapy strategies to rehabilitation of erectile function and continence, to the management of endocrine, metabolic, sexual and relational consequences of the disease. The training objectives are to provide participants with updated tools to understand the functional impact of different therapeutic strategies, improve prevention and management of major complications, deepen current strategies for sexual and urinary rehabilitation and promote a truly multidisciplinary and patient-centered survivorship model. The Masterclass is aimed at surgeons, both specialists and in specialized training, in the disciplines: urology, oncology, endocrinology, gynecology, radiotherapy, general medicine. The final goal is to promote the transition from a model oriented mainly to the care of the disease to a broader approach, in which therapeutic success is also evaluated in terms of functional recovery, sexual health, endocrine-metabolic well-being, quality of the relationship of couple and overall quality of life of the patient.
