Scientific rationale

Rehabilitation is a pillar in the management of chronic respiratory diseases, within which physical training plays a decisive role. The course aims to deepen the rational physiopathology based on the limitations to exercise and to outline the optimal modes of endurance training in patients suffering from chronic cardio-respiratory diseases.

The training program provides structured discussion of clinical cases, with illustration of training sessions and related physiological modifications induced by the exercise. The practical activity will be aimed at the personalized choice of the training program, based on the clinical and functional characteristics of the individual patient.
